Making effective use of the limited earth resources
and contributing to society through business
Since the founding of Matsuda Sangyo in 1935, we have expanded our business based on the principle of making effective use of the Earth’s resources, and consistently put effort into solving customers’ problems and conserving the Earth’s environment.
Today, our world is confronted by various problems such as environmental issues and food crisis, even as it moves toward the realization of a sustainable society.
By developing the business that we have been engaged in since our founding days, we will continue to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
Our Origin
Everything began with
the Spirit of “mottainai” x Spirit of challenge
Matsuda Sangyo’s two businesses have their beginnings in “mottainai,” which is the sense that the disposal of things that are no longer needed is wasteful, and because we took up the challenge of realizing our desire to utilize such resources in some way.
Since then, we have been expanding our business on a global scale, basing the core of our business on extracting the intrinsic value of objects and making effective use of the Earth’s resources.
Our Business
Development of a cross-industrial business, and our management foundation
Matsuda Sangyo has developed its business in the two completely different areas of “precious metals” and “food,” both of which are rooted in the corporate philosophy of “making effective use of the limited earth resources.”
Based on this common principle, each business is making an in-depth exploration of their respective customers’ needs and issues, and working to expand the scale of the business.
Global
Building a global supply chain centered in Asia
We are building a robust supply chain to ensure a constant and stable supply of products and commodities to our customers. In the Precious Metals Business Segment, we are building a network in Japan and seven business sites in East Asia to collect precious metal raw materials as well as supply precious metal materials, products, and commodities. In the Food Business Segment, we are building a global procurement network by utilizing local subsidiaries, so as to enable the provision of an extensive product lineup, along with safe and reliable food materials.
Our suppliers are spread across the world in Asia, North America, South America, Europe, and Oceania.
Growth
Realizing a sustainable growth trajectory alongside social changes
The use of precious metals products has grown alongside the advancement of electronics technology, and the demand for precious metal recycling has expanded exponentially since the founding of the Matsuda Sangyo Group. In addition, food procurement has become increasingly important due to factors such as the diversification of Japanese diets accompanying globalization, and the Japanese food boom overseas. Against this backdrop, net sales for the whole of the Matsuda Sangyo Group have continued to grow smoothly.
For the Future
Matsuda Sangyo’s innovations to address the challenges of unresolved social issues
There are still numerous unresolved issues left to tackle toward the building of a decarbonized, circular society.
Matsuda Sangyo continues to confront these issues and address challenges to overcome them one by one.
We have continued to pursue circular businesses and nurture knowhow since our founding, and our role in society has grown further.
Going forward, we will continue to further reinforce these strengths, make effective use of the Earth’s resources, and address challenges.
